Top 3 Must-Eats in Hong Kong | From Rooftop Bar in Tsim Sha Tsui to Brunch in Central & Beachside Burger in Stanley (Wooloomooloo Prime, Café Landmark, Beef & Liberty)

I would like to dedicate the final post of my recent trip to my personal “Top 3 must-eats in Hong Kong” list. During my recent trip to Hong Kong, I walked over 20,000 steps everyday and still managed to gain a kilo in just 3 days—a true testament to how much I indulged🐷 And to wrap up this unforgettable journey, I’ve rounded up my top 3 spots. From an elegant brunch at Café Landmark to a relaxing rooftop beer with stunning night views at Wooloomooloo Prime, and finally a hearty beachside burger at Beef & Liberty in Stanley, here’s my honest review of each spot.

Romantic Brunch in the Heart of Central

The first place I want to introduce is Café Landmark, located on the first floor of Landmark Mall in Central. Landmark Mall is one of the city’s most iconic luxury shopping destinations, and Café Landmark has been a cornerstone dining spot here since the 1980s. Their menu ranges from traditional European brunch to Asian-inspired dishes, offering a wide selection that caters to various tastes. Though the prices are on the higher side considering the exceptional service and overall ambiance, I felt it was absolutely worth a visit.

Atmosphere at Café Landmark

Dining at Café Landmark feels like having breakfast at a luxurious hotel lounge with the spacious layout, attentive service, and the beautiful glass ceiling. The high ceilings—designed like a conservatory—allow natural sunlight to pour in gently and enhance the openness of the space. If you choose a table near the edge, you can also look down into the mall and fully immerse yourself in the city’s luxurious vibe.

Menu & Pricing at Café Landmark

Opening at 8am, Café Landmark is an excellent alternative to a hotel breakfast for early risers. And it’s also worth noting that because Central is one of the biggest CBDs in Hong Kong, a lot of restaurants in the area closed on Sundays or public holidays—Café Landmark remains open almost every day except for major holidays like Lunar New Year, making it a reliable option for tourists.

While this place is most famous for its Western dishes like pasta and steak, their menu also includes Asian choices such as curry and laksa. Main dishes generally range from HKD 200 to 400.

What I Ordered

Weekend Brunch Set (with Boston Lobster Benedict)

I chose the Weekend Brunch Set for HKD 288, which includes a salad or soup, a main dish, and coffee or tea—I opted for a salad, the Boston Lobster Benedict, and an iced decaf Americano. The first course was a Wagyu Beef Salad and the quality of the Wagyu beef exceeded expectations. The thinly sliced meat was juicy and tender, marinated in a perfectly balanced sweet and savory sauce.

The Lobster Egg Benedict presented two perfectly poached eggs atop a lightly toasted bread base with whole lobster meat. From the tender lobster to the soft and oozy eggs and a side of fresh arugula, the dish celebrated the natural flavors of its premium ingredients. And the hollandaise sauce, which I asked to be served on the side, had a uniquely airy (almost meringue-like) texture that added a sophisticated finish to the dish.

Napoleon Spaghetti

The Napoleon Spaghetti reminded me of Japanese-style Napolitan pasta but with a rich, genuine tomato zest instead of the usual ketchup flavor. The thinly sliced Parma ham blanketing the pasta created a unique presentation, while fresh vegetables like bell peppers and tomatoes added a healthy, refreshing touch. Overall it was a balanced, hearty plate that combined classic flavors with a modern flair.

Relaxed Beachside Burger at Stanley Bay

On the last day of the trip, we headed out to Stanley Bay. Although I’ve been to Hong Kong several times, this was my first visit to Stanley, and the laid-back atmosphere was completely different from the high-rise views of Central or Tsim Sha Tsui.

Beef & Liberty is a well-known burger chain in Hong Kong, even with a location at the airport. The name originates from 18th-century England where “Beef and Liberty” symbolized freedom and prosperity. Known for its high-quality burgers at reasonable prices, Beef & Liberty remains one of Hong Kong’s most beloved burger brand among both locals and tourists.

Atmosphere at Beef & Liberty Stanley

The Stanley location of Beef & Liberty is perfectly situated near the tourist hotspots like Stanley Market and Murray House, making it an ideal destination for combining sightseeing and dining. Its simple interior design carries a vintage pub-like vibe with dim lighting and casual setting.

Menu & Pricing at Beef & Liberty

Signature burgers at Beef & Liberty include the classic Hamburger, the Black Pepper Burger, and the Liberty Wagyu Burger. They also offer quite a few vegan options like the Falafel Burger and the Shrumami Burger. Burger prices generally range from HKD 100 to 150, with sides at around HKD 50. They also have special promotions like lunch sets and happy hour discounts on weekdays before 3pm, so I recommend visiting during a weekday afternoon if you can.

What I Ordered

Bacon Cheese Burger

My boyfriend chose the Bacon Cheese Burger and upgraded to a 220g New Zealand Wagyu patty. Ordered medium rare, the patty was perfectly charred on the outside while staying juicy and pink inside, capturing both the natural flavor of the beef and the smoky aroma from the grill. The crispy bacon, melted cheese, and fresh vegetables came together to create a delicious, balanced burger.

Falafel Burger

As a fan of vegan dishes, I ordered the Falafel Burger and was very impressed. The thick falafel patty had a wonderfully herby & nutty flavor, complemented by fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers that added a refreshing crunch. The bun, likely a vegan bread, had a light and crispy texture similar to rice baguette used in Banh Mi sandwiches.

Onion Rings

The onion rings featured freshly sliced onions battered and fried to a perfect golden brown. The thick, crispy batter (like the one you’d see on the fish in a good fish & chips) encased sweet, tender onions. The house secret sauce served alongside was a red mayo-like dip with strong curry and spice notes, which might not be for everyone. Personally the onion rings were savory enough on their own so I didn’t feel the need for the sauce.

Rooftop Bar with HK‘s Stunning Night Views

The final spot on my list is Wooloomooloo Prime, a rooftop bar and steakhouse located on the 21st floor of The ONE shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui. Known as one of the top rooftop bars in Hong Kong, Wooloomooloo Prime offers breathtaking views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong’s iconic skyline, making it a prime choice for anyone searching for Hong Kong restaurants with a view or a romantic rooftop bar in TST.

Atmosphere at Wooloomooloo Prime

Wooloomooloo Prime features an open rooftop, offering an unobstructed view of the sea connecting Tsim Sha Tsui and Hong Kong Island, as well as the towering skyscrapers that line the horizon. The day we visited was very foggy which made our view a bit blurry, but it actually felt like we were floating on a cloud—one of the most memorable moments of our trip.

One downside was that the outdoor terrace area allows smoking, so there were quite a few guests smoking at their tables. We eventually moved to an indoor table, which also offered a great view of the city and had air-conditioning, allowing us to enjoy our beer to the fullest. FYI Wooloomooloo Prime is easy to book via Google, so I recommend securing a table in advance when planning your trip.

Menu & Pricing at Wooloomooloo Prime

While Wooloomooloo Prime is best known as a steakhouse, we decided to keep it light and focused mainly on drinks and snacks. The bar bites were generally priced between 100 and 300 HKD, and the Asahi draft beer (300ml) we ordered was 80 HKD per glass. There was also an impressive variety of drink options available, ranging from wines and cocktails to whiskey and juices. Although the overall prices were on the higher side, it was a worthwhile indulgence considering the relaxing vibe and the beautiful view with which we could fully immerse ourselves in Hong Kong’s nightscape.

What I Ordered

Popcorn Rock Shrimp

The Popcorn Rock Shrimp featured generously-sized whole shrimp, lightly battered and deep-fried into bite-sized pieces. They were served piping hot with a satisfying crisp. It was served with a lemon and a “devilled” tartar sauce that had a slight green hue, likely from finely chopped pickles. The sauce was tangy and creamy, pairing perfectly with the crunchy shrimp.

Overall

Following the cha chaan teng and dim sum spots introduced in my previous posts, the 3 Hong Kong dining spots featured this time each had its own distinct charms, both in terms of food and atmosphere. Hong Kong’s mood and vibe vary so greatly depending on the neighborhood, so I highly recommend not limiting yourself to just one area but exploring a wide range of places from the seaside to the skyscrapers to feel the diverse energy and charm of the city.
