Looking for Korean fashion brands that are trending right now? As a follow-up on my previous guide to The Hyundai Seoul(더현대서울) where I introduced the mall as a prime destination for trendy shopaholics, I’ll dive deeper into the B2 floor, which is home to some of my favorite clothing brands: Depound, Kuho Plus, and 29cm Gallery. These brands represent the best of contemporary Korean fashion for chic everyday wear.
Depound is a Korean lifestyle brand inspired by minimalism and a sense of daily comfort. It emphasizes clean and simple designs in a wide range of products including clothing, accessories, and home goods. With its versatile pieces, the brand captures the essence of modern simplicity, appealing to those who value quality and style. A fun fact for those who are savvy with Korean fashion brands is that Depound is a part of the same fashion group as Matin Kim, another Seoul-based fashion brand known for its minimalist yet edgy designs.
One of Depound’s most iconic items would be the canvas bags, often referred to as the “Kang Minkyung Bag” in Korea. These bags combine practicality with simplicity, making them popular among contemporary fashionistas.
Kuho Plus is the second brand of Kuho, designed to cater to millennials seeking refined yet unique designs at a more accessible price. It maintains the sophisticated and modern essence of its parent brand while incorporating youthful, trend-driven elements to appeal to a broader audience. By balancing high-quality craftsmanship with affordability, Kuho Plus delivers timeless pieces that resonate with younger generations.
Kuho Plus features distinctive blue-colored accents, such as blue tabs, stitches, and logos, which give their pieces a refined yet playful touch. These details always remind me of the design of ADER ERROR. The signature blue elements add a unique identity to Kuho Plus’s minimalist designs, making their pieces easily recognizable and stylishly memorable.
29cmis a trendy online platform known for curating unique and stylish products across fashion, lifestyle, and home categories, catering to design-conscious shoppers. Since 2021, 29cm has been a subsidiary of Musinsa, one of Korea’s leading fashion e-commerce platforms, allowing it to expand its influence while maintaining its distinct identity in the market.
29cm Gallery at The Hyundai Seoul serves as an offline extension of the online platform, designed as a “gallery” that features and showcases four curated brands each month. This rotating selection highlights both emerging and established designers, offering visitors a dynamic shopping experience. The gallery’s concept reflects 29cm’s commitment to creativity and thoughtful curation.
