Tour a Tour in Apgujeong is probably one of the most popular sourdough bakery cafes in Seoul. Inspired by a visit to a traditional bakery in Bordeaux, this charming spot takes its name from the French phrase meaning “in turn,” reflecting its philosophy of slow, thoughtful baking. While Tour a Tour specializes in naturally fermented levain sourdough and house-made sandwiches, their menu also includes monthly specials that change throughout the year. In this post, I’ll be sharing my experience from two recent visits, where I had the chance to try their seasonal sandwiches for April and June.

Tour a Tour is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station, Dosan Park, and Apgujeong Café Street. While there are a few parking spaces available right in front of the shop, I recommend using public transportation as the area can get quite busy with limited parking. The café opens early everyday at 9am, making it an excellent breakfast spot for those staying nearby or for anyone looking for a light start to the day with fresh sourdough and coffee.

Menu & Pricing
Tour a Tour specializes in naturally fermented levain sourdough with varieties like baton, campagne, and ciabatta. The use of ‘levain,’ a natural starter which ferments for over 16 hours, gives the bread a depth of flavor and chewy texture.

Tour a Tour’s menu centers around rustic European comfort with a French touch, offering a selection of sandwiches (₩15,000–16,500), hearty soups (₩14,000–19,000), and specialty drinks (₩5,000–8,000). Unlike the fixed items on the menu, Tour a Tour also offers seasonal sandwiches that change each month, using the most fresh and creative ingredients paired with their signature bread. So before you visit, I recommend checking out their Instagram account to see the latest specials. During two of my recent visits, I was lucky enough to try two seasonal options—the Ruby Kiwi Open Sandwich and the Apricot Brie Cheese Sandwich.

What I Ordered
Ruby Kiwi Open Sandwich
This sandwich was part of their April 2025 seasonal menu, made with ruby kiwis—a red-fleshed variety that’s sweeter and less tart than regular kiwis. The fruit was sliced thin and layered delicately over a thick piece of house-made campagne bread. Beneath the kiwi slices was a generous swipe of hazelnut almond butter, followed by silky stracciatella cheese. Finished with a drizzle of organic agave syrup, a touch of olive oil and flakes of Maldon sea salt, the sandwich was a perfect harmony of sweet, tangy, creamy, and savory flavors.

FYI if you’re a fan of these open sandwiches with fresh ingredients, I’d also recommend checking out Friends & Yard in Seongsu-dong, which offers a similar style of thoughtfully curated toasts that feature the best fruits and vegetables of the season.
Apricot Brie Cheese Sandwich
The apricot brie sandwich featured in June 2025, was another stunner. Served on a crusty baguette, it came stacked with soft brie cheese, thinly sliced prosciutto, fresh apricots and greens. The contrast between the savory ham, the sweetness of the fruit, and the creamy richness of the cheese made each bite feel indulgent but balanced.

Grandpa Sandwich
Both the Grandma and Grandpa Sandwiches are signature items at Tour a Tour and as the names suggest, they offer a nourishing comfort feel that seems to match the bakery’s organic and wholesome philosophy. The Grandpa Sandwich features a generous serving of chickpea and white bean salad over a layer of whipped ricotta mousse, served with two thick slices of levain sourdough. The spread itself felt like a cross between hummus and tzatziki—creamy and nutty, with a subtle tang and refreshing herbal notes. A drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkling of chopped parsley finished it off by adding brightness and depth.

Vibe & Atmosphere

French Country Aesthetic in Apgujeong
While Apgujeong is known for its street of sleek and modern cafés, Tour a Tour stands out with its distinctly rustic charm. The stone-clad exterior evokes a sense of an old European house, while the small outdoor terrace invites you a completely different energy—overlooking the busy, urban streets of Apgujeong. Step inside and you will be greeted with a space that feels intentionally unpolished—dim lighting, heavy wooden beams, and vintage cookware all contribute to a cozy, lived-in atmosphere. From the open kitchen you can watch bakers stretching dough or sliding loaves into the oven, a scene that adds a comforting warmth to the space.

4.1/5
Overall
Tour a Tour has quickly become one of my favorite places in Apgujeong—not just for its food but for the unique charm and atmosphere. It would be a perfect stop for anything from a slow breakfast to a comforting lunch, or simply a loaf of bread to take home. If you visit I highly recommend trying one of their seasonal specialties. Both the Ruby Kiwi Open Sandwich and the Apricot Brie Cheese Sandwich were memorable in completely different ways, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what they’ll introduce next!
