I wanted to treat myself to something extra stylish for this year’s birthday and decided to visit Sadelle’s at Kith Seoul, which had been saved on my map under ‘Special Occasions’ folder for a while. Brunch Cafe on a Concept Store

Founded in 2011, Kith is a lifestyle brand known for its creative curation of apparel, footwear, and accessories. Over the years the brand has also expanded into F&B, incorporating elements of food and culture into its retail environments. While Kith also has its own cafe brands (like Kith Cafe and Kith Treats), many of its global flagship stores including the Seoul branch also collaborate with Sadelle’s, a much-loved cafe in New York known for its bagels and brunch classics to bring a taste of NYC to the heart of Seongsu.

FYI for those looking for a more casual/affordable American diner-style breakfast, I also recommend the Original Pancake House, a franchise brand from Portland Oregon.

Jesse Lingard’s Brunch Spot in ‘I Live Alone’

Kith Seoul officially opened as a Seongsu flagship store in 2024, immediately becoming one of the most popular concept stores in the neighborhood. Sadelle’s, occupying the 3rd and 4th floors of the building, naturally drew just as much attention from both shoppers and brunch lovers. It was also featured in a recent episode of ‘I Live Alone’ where the famous soccer player Jesse Lingard enjoys his lunch at Sadelle’s, solidifying the cafe’s reputation as a must-visit Seongsu destination.

Many of the offerings at Sadelle’s Seoul seem to mirror the original menu in New York featuring bagel towers, smoked salmon plates, and a variety of egg dishes. Prices are on the premium side, which is quite expected given the luxurious vibe and its positioning as an elevated brunch destination. Main dishes typically range from 20,000 to 30,000 KRW, with specialty items like house salmon and traditional caviar priced higher. For drinks they offer coffee and tea priced between 6,000 and 8,500 KRW and a selection of alcoholic options including beer, cocktails, and wine.

Avocado Toast

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The avocado toast is simple and fresh, a dependable choice for anyone wanting something light and green. Served on a slice of toasted sourdough, it comes topped with creamy sliced avocado and pickled onions. The sourdough was extra crispy with just enough tang, balancing well with the soft texture of the sliced avocado. While the toppings are simple, the quality of the ingredients from fresh avocado to crisp sourdough make the dish perfectly satisfying.

Special Cheeseburger (+Hash Browns)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I also tried the Special Cheeseburger made with a double Korean beef (Hanwoo) patty, American cheese, Muenster cheese, pickles, and a side of French fries. Interestingly the burger was served already cut into two halves, showing the melted cheese dripping over the patties. The bun had a deep brown color (almost as if lightly fried) giving it a richer appearance.

The flavor is exactly what you’d want from a premium cheeseburger with rich and melty flavors without being overly greasy. The Korean beef patties were juicy and well-seasoned, and the combination of American cheese with Muenster added a deeper savor. I also added hash browns on the side which came crisp on the outside and soft inside (but the portion got a little too heavy).

Cheese Blintzes

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

For dessert I chose the Cheese Blintzes (because they didn’t have any cakes on the menu), and put a small birthday candle on one of the crepes. The blintzes come filled with a mixture of ricotta, cream cheese, and vanilla extract, served warm with a soft texture that feels somewhere between a crepe and a pancake. They also come with syrup and jam on the side, but I personally found the creamy filling sweet enough on its own.

Vibe & Atmosphere

Seongsu Terrace Cafe with a View

Sadelle’s occupies the 3rd and 4th floors of Kith Seoul, and the transition from shopping to dining feels seamless yet distinctive. Once you enter the Kith building, you’re welcomed by a large curated concept store filled with trendy clothing, sneakers, and accessories. And to reach Sadelle’s, you can either take the lift or head up the stairs to the 3rd floor, where the main dining area is located.

I’d made a reservation in advance and was seated on the 4th floor. While the 3rd floor is livelier and busier with more tables and diners, the 4th floor felt more spacious and private, also featuring a large terrace overlooking the shopping streets and high-rise buildings of Seongsu. If you have a preferred seat/floor, I recommend making a reservation through Catchtable in advance.

NYC Aesthetics in Seongsu-Dong

The interior design at Sadelle’s Seoul reflects its sophisticated NYC aesthetic with patterned floor tiles, combination of wood and marble on the walls, and the signature turquoise-colored seats. Despite the polished styling, the mood remains warm and welcoming, and the dining area is bright with large windows and high ceilings that create a sense of openness.

The staff were friendly and efficient with a smooth service throughout my visit; and even with a full house, all the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Both the polite service and the stylish vibe would work great for birthdays, dates, or even solo brunches.

Overall

My birthday brunch at Sadelle’s at Kith Seoul was exactly what I hoped for: good food, stylish space, and an atmosphere that feels special without being overly formal. While it’s definitely priced as a premium brunch option, the combination of quality, service and design made it worth visiting. So if you’re looking for a polished brunch experience near Seongsu area, I definitely recommend Sadelle’s to make make your day feel extra special.
