Rooftop Brunch with a View of Namsan Tower | Healthy Breakfast near Seoul Station @ Bobby (바비)

If you’re searching for breakfast near Seoul Station, Bobby is a modern brunch spot that should be at the top of your list. Last Saturday I visited Bobby with my mom, and from wholesome vegetarian plates to its hidden rooftop overlooking Namsan Tower, the place felt like a quiet retreat in the city. It welcomes everyone from early risers to lazy brunch lovers with its serene atmosphere and nourishing menu. Let me share my experience of dining at Bobby and my honest thoughts on two of their best veggie dishes.

Bobby

Bobby is within walking distance from Seoul Station, on a quiet street lined with small mid-rise buildings. Once you go up the stairs to the third floor, you’ll recognize the restaurant by its signature green door. Bobby opens at 8:00AM everyday (except Tuesdays when it’s closed), making it a perfect spot for early birds or travelers looking for a healthy breakfast before catching a train from Seoul Station.

Bobby seems to be inspired by a blend of Aussie-style recipes and urban Seoul aesthetics. Its menu focuses on healthy & sustainable plates with a variety of vegan/vegetarian options. Pricing is quite reasonable with most main dishes ranging between ₩13,000-20,000, with coffee and drinks in the ₩4,000-6,000 range.

On a side note Bobby’s Instagram feed gives followers a peek into the personality and inspirations behind the brand. The chef has too many dish ideas he wants to bring to the menu but can’t fit them all in. Instead he often shares vegan and vegetarian recipes he’s passionate about, inviting followers into his creative process. Just by looking at the recipes, you can feel the chef’s love for plant-forward cooking, a passion that resonates with many health-conscious Seoulites.

Veggie Bowl

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

The Veggie Bowl came beautifully arranged in a colorful medley of hummus, sweet potato, avocado, broccoli, and roasted pumpkin, all lightly drizzled with miso dressing. Each component added a different texture and flavor—earthy, creamy, savory, and sweet—and the miso dressing added a nutty savor that brought all the vegetables together in harmony. Compared to other versions I’ve recently had at Cafe Wildduck or Keem Hannam, the hummus at Bobby was noticeably smoother (almost like a vegan mayo) with less emphasis on the chickpea flavor. While it had a simpler profile than authentic hummus, the velvety texture blended seamlessly with the rest of the bowl.

Herb Toast (+ Salmon)

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

The herb toast featured two slices of sourdough with a thin swipe of green goddess sauce in between, topped with smashed avocado, poached egg, and a drizzle of chili oil and lemon vinaigrette. I also added salmon on the side, which brought the perfect touch of color and freshness to the plate.

The toast was vibrant and rich, but I did find the herbs a little too minty, with the grassy flavor overpowering the creamy umami of avocado and egg. But if you’re someone who enjoys bold & minty herbs, you should definitely give this dish a try.

Vibe & Atmosphere

I arrived a little before 12 PM on a Saturday, and the restaurant was already almost full with only one table left on the second floor, which speaks about Bobby’s growing popularity. I highly recommend booking in advance if you plan on coming during peak brunch hours especially on weekends. FYI you can easily reserve a table through CatchTable or Naver Map.

The interior of Bobby is a perfect balance between modern minimalism and natural warmth. While the structure itself features a cement-industrial backdrop, the space is brought to life with pops of green throughout. Starting from the bold green door, the theme continues inside with matching green chairs, stools, and lush indoor plants that give the space a fresh and organic feeling.

I was seated on the second floor facing the window with a view looking out to Seoul’s bright blue sky and a clear view of Namsan Tower. Though there were no tables set up outside, but the large window was more than enough to soak in the scenery. In early May we had just enough sunlight to warm the table, but it could be a bit overwhelming in the summer especially as the windows had no shades.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Overall

With its early opening hours, health-conscious menu and view of Namsan Tower, Bobby is a place that ticks all the boxes for a memorable brunch outing. If you’re searching for an early meal near Seoul Station or simply want to enjoy a stylish cafe with a wholesome brunch, Bobby is worth the detour. Just be sure to book ahead especially on weekends as this spot is quickly becoming everyone’s to-go spot.
