What to Eat at Lotte World Department Store Food Court & How to Get to Lotte World from Jamsil Station

Lotte World Department Store is part of the larger Lotte World Complex, directly connected to Jamsil Station. Anchored by Lotte World Tower, the tallest building in Korea, the Lotte complex brings together the department store, shopping mall, dining areas, and entertainment spaces under one roof. In this post, I’ll explain how to get to Lotte World Complex from Jamsil Station and share what I actually ate at the department store food court.

How to Get to Lotte World from Jamsil Station

Getting to Lotte Department Store from Jamsil Station is super convenient and straightforward. The entire Lotte World Complex (including Lotte Department Store, Lotte World Mall, and Lotte World Tower) is directly connected to Jamsil Station. And in addition to the underground connections, Lotte World Mall and Lotte World Tower are also linked on Floors 1 and 6, making it easy to move between shopping and dining once you are inside the complex.

Jamsil Station Exit Guide:

  • Exit 4 → Directly connected to Lotte Department Store
  • Exits 1 & 2 → Direct access to Lotte World Tower
  • Exits 10 & 11 → Direct access to Lotte World Mall

Lotte World Department Store Food Court

The basement floor of Jamsil Lotte Department Store features a food court called Food Avenue, offering a wide variety of food stalls, cafes, and bakeries. But seating is super limited, so it’s best to visit on weekdays or avoid peak lunch hours (12pm – 1pm) during weekends for a more comfortable experience.

When I visited in January 2025, there were stores offering Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Chinese cuisine. But you can always check out the latest list of stores on their website.

Veteran Kalguksu

Kalguksu(칼국수), meaning “knife-cut noodles,” is a Korean comfort food made with flat noodles served in a hot savory broth. There are many variations of kalguksu ranging from seafood to chicken-based broths, but one of the most unique versions comes from Veteran Kalguksu. Its first store opened in Jeonju Hanok Village in 1977 and is still remains one of the most popular kalguksu spots in the country. Veteran Kalguksu features a light soy sauce-based broth topped with eggs, seaweed, and perilla seeds, offering a unique twist on the clear anchovy-based broth of a classic kalguksu. You can also find a Veteran Kalguksu branch at the food court inside Lotte World Department Store.

I ordered the original Veteran Kalguksu and the broth stood out for its deeply savory flavor, with the perilla seeds adding subtle nutty notes. The thinner noodles were soft rather than chewy, making the dish feel comforting without being too heavy. In addition to the signature kalguksu, Veteran is also known for its cold spicy noodles (jjolmyeon) and dumplings, both of which are popular orders and often paired with the kalguksu.

[Closed] Slow Oven 06:05

Slow Oven 06:05(여섯시오븐) is Lotte’s premium bakery brand that focuses on producing healthy freshly baked goods. Also located in the food court at Jamsil Lotte Department Store, the bakery emphasizes a commitment to using natural starters without any additives, offering an upscale bakery option for health-conscious consumers.

My favorite menu at Slow Oven is the sweet pumpkin sandwich, featuring fresh lettuce with a creamy pumpkin & egg mousse. The nutty whole grain bread adds a wholesome, healthy touch to the sandwich, making it an excellent option for those seeking a nutritious and satisfying vegetarian meal.

Overall

The underground passages linking the department store and Lotte World Mall & Tower all the way to Jamsil Station make it easy to combine dining, shopping and sightseeing in one visit. You should also check out my posts on shopping recommendations and (more) dining options in Lotte World Mall & Tower, which may help you plan the rest of your time in the complex more efficiently!
