Gimpo Lotte Mall | Hidden Gem Near Seoul Gimpo Airport for K-Food & K-Beauty Shopping

If you’re flying in or out of Seoul Gimpo Airport and have some time to spare, Gimpo Lotte Mall is the perfect place for last-minute shopping. Conveniently connected to the airport via an underpass, this hidden gem offers a variety of stores where you can pick up K-food and K-beauty products before heading home. Whether you’re looking for unique Korean snacks, trendy beauty products, or souvenirs, this shopping mall has something for everyone. In this post, I’ll be sharing three must-visit stores at Gimpo Lotte Mall that you won’t want to miss!

Gimpo vs Incheon Airport

Most tourists who visit Korea are usually more familiar with Incheon International Airport, the country’s largest and busiest airport known for its extensive flight network. However Gimpo Airport, located much closer to central Seoul, is a great alternative especially for domestic flights and short-haul international routes to Japan, China, and Taiwan. While Incheon offers more flight options and world-class amenities, Gimpo is more convenient for quick trips with faster security checks and easier access to Seoul (just 20-30 minutes by subway or taxi).

SISIHOSI (시시호시)

SISIHOSI is a curated lifestyle shop operated by Lotte Department Store, offering a diverse range of products that highlight Korean culture and aesthetics. The store features a curated selection of K-goods, including beauty products, home decor, and fashion accessories, appealing to shoppers seeking unique and culturally infused items.

SISIHOSI at Gimpo Lotte Mall is located on the GF floor of the shopping complex. The store features a minimalist design with well-organized displays that highlight its carefully curated selection of lifestyle products. Be sure to check out the event zone near the entrance, where limited-editions and/or exclusive brand collaborations are frequently showcased.

Leesungdang Sweets (이성당 과자점)

Leesungdang(이성당) is the oldest bakery in Korea established in 1945 in Gunsan. With a history spanning nearly 80 years, the bakery has become an iconic brand known for its nostalgic charm and traditional flavors. Originally a small family-run business, Leesungdang gained national fame for its signature red bean bread (단팥빵).

Leesungdang Sweets(이성당 과자점) at Gimpo Lotte Mall is a unique branch that mainly focuses on desserts. Unlike its original store, it operates as a confectionery shop, meaning it does not sell its famous red bean bread or vegetable bread(야채빵) on a regular basis. (These signature items are only available during special events like anniversaries, holidays, and limited-time promotions.)

Instead the Gimpo Lotte Mall branch focuses more on baked goods and sweets. Its signature product is a reinterpretation of the Japanese snack “dorayaki” available in various flavors. The live preparation of these iconic treats allow customers to see the fresh, hot dorayakis being made on the spot.

And Leesungdang is actually located inside the SISIHOSI lifestyle store, operateing as a “shop-in-shop” concept. So please make sure to check both stores out if you visit Gimpo Lotte Mall!

Lotte Mart (롯데마트)

Lotte Mart in Gimpo Lotte Mall is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to explore a wide variety of K-food products. This spacious supermarket is home to amazing korean products that feature popular brands like HBAF, Buldak Bokkeummyeon(불닭볶음면), and Binggrae Banana Milk(빙그레바나나우유). Don’t forget to check their closed days, which fall on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, so you can plan your visit accordingly.

For an even more immersive experience, exit through the cashier section and you’ll find a row of street food stalls serving seasonal Korean delicacies. When I visited in February, the stalls were selling all-time favorite winter snacks like hotteok(호떡) and bunggeo-ppang(붕어빵).

Olive Young (올리브영)

The Olive Young store at Gimpo Lotte Mall is spacious and well-stocked, providing most of the popular products you’d expect from Olive Young. It’s the perfect stop for those wanting to do some last-minute binge shopping for K-beauty items before flying out of Gimpo Airport. For snack recommendations feel free to check out my previous post, where I dive into the top 3 snacks from Olive Young!

Hidden Tips & Spots

There are 2 useful facilities and tips to enhance your experience at Gimpo Lotte Mall. First, if you’re traveling with luggage, the mall offers free luggage storage services. You can store your carriers (excluding backpacks) at the Customer Service Lounge on the GF floor near Lotte Mart. This is especially helpful for travelers who need a place to keep their luggage while exploring the mall.

Another great tip is to visit the 6th floor of Lotte Department Store (which is linked to Lotte Mall), where you can head out to the sky garden and observatory. From here, you’ll get a fantastic view of airplanes flying in and out of Gimpo Airport, making it a unique spot to relax and enjoy the sights. There’s also a small garden next to the observatory where you can enjoy a mini picnic or a cup of coffee outdoors. However, when I visited in winter, the garden was temporarily closed due to the cold weather, so I recommend visiting during spring or autumn for the best experience!
