Mild High Club | Trendy Apgujeong Bar for Brunch and Wine (마일드하이클럽)

Mild High Club is one of those rare finds that blend trendy style with genuinely satisfying food. The name itself is a nod to the Los Angeles-based pop band Mild High Club known for their laid-back sound, which offers a fitting hint at the restaurant’s identity. From a weekend pancake brunch to a casual dinner over pasta and wine, the experience seems thoughtfully curated from the food to the playlist. In this post, I’ll share my recommendations on what to order and why it’s worth adding to your must-try list of Apgujeong restaurants.

Mild High Club

Mild High Club sits in a sweet spot between Apgujeong and Apgujeong Rodeo, just a 5-minute walk from Apgujeong Rodeo Station Exit 5 or a 12-minute walk from Apgujeong Station. It’s also within a short walking distance from Galleria Department Store and Dosan Park, which makes it a perfect spot to add between your shopping or sightseeing itinerary.

From lunch to dinner, Mild High Club offers a consistent lineup of all-day dishes like butter-garlic shrimp pasta, sweet pumpkin gnocchi and French toast. The vibe gradually shifts as the day goes on: sunlit and relaxed by day, chill and spirited by night. Drinks including cocktails (₩12,000–₩17,000), bottled wine (from 60,000) and spirits, are also available throughout the day. Mains dishes typically range from ₩22,000 to ₩26,000 while desserts are priced under ₩10,000.

Chili Ragu Pasta (+Fresh Focaccia)

Rating: 4 out of 5.

The chili ragu pasta was the perfect representation of Mild High Club’s rustic but elevated culinary identity. Among all the restaurants I’ve visited recently, the portion size here stood out as significantly more generous. The wide fettuccine pasta were generously smothered in a rich meat sauce that had layers of spice and savor. The finely chopped chilis added a subtle hint of spiciness, which was perfectly balanced by the richness of the meat and cheese.

Topped with a fresh mix of baby greens and shredded cheese, each bite had a hearty balance of flavor and brightness. I highly recommend ordering the house focaccia as an add-on; its soft, chewy texture and gentle herb aroma made it the ideal companion for the deeply savory sauce.

Mild Dutch Baby Pancake

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Next came the Dutch baby pancake, which is one of their signature brunch items. It was a visual stunner, baked to the perfect puff with golden edges, and generously topped with burrata cheese, Greek yogurt, fresh berries, grapes, and a slice of ham. All the ingredients were super fresh and vibrant, making each bite unique and refreshing. But to be honest, the pancake itself didn’t quite live up to the one I had at The Original Pancake House last week, which was much more custardy and soft inside. But considering that Mild High Club doesn’t specialize in pancakes, this was a solid choice, especially for its beautiful presentation and satisfying contrast of sweet and savory elements.

Vibe & Atmosphere

A Listening Bar Meets Brunch Bistro

Mild High Club’s layout is open yet intimate. The restaurant is very spacious with plenty of tables that are thoughtfully spaced out. I visited on one of the hottest days of the year, but the space remained cool and breezy. Sunlight poured in through the tall windows, soaking the room in warmth but never too hot. Instead of blasting cold air conditioners, the cooling system felt thoughtfully balanced with fans efficiently circulating the cold breeze. Adding to the charm were shelves lined with retro music tapes and vinyl records, reinforcing the space’s identity as a vintage-inspired vinyl bar.

In the evening Mild High Club regularly hosts a curated range of live music events like vinyl DJ sets, house music nights, and mellow jazz evenings, featuring various DJs and record collectors. It’s clear that music is a big part of the identity and atmosphere, creating a unique culinary & artistic experience.

4/5

Overall

If you’re looking for an easy-going brunch spot or a casual listening bar near Apgujeong Rodeo, Mild High Club should be your next destination. The space strikes a unique balance between laid-back daytime charm and rhythmic vibrance after dark. With retro tapes stacked along the counter and shelves of vinyl lining the walls, the restaurant gives off a subtle analogue warmth that’s hard to find in Apgujeong. I’d love to return in the evening for dinner to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail with the music-filled nighttime ambiance.
