Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel is an ideal destination for a relaxing and luxurious staycation in the heart of Seoul. My stay in the Executive King Room was a perfect combination of spacious comfort, panoramic city views, and excellent executive club lounge benefits. This post will cover my honest experience and comprehensive review of the room, facilities and the executive lounge access at the hotel.

Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel

Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Exit 6 of Dongguk University Station(Line 3). Despite being close to major attractions like Namsan Tower, Myeongdong, and Dongdaemun, the area surrounding the hotel is relatively quiet, making it a great place for a peaceful stay. But the transportation options from the airport can be a bit inconvenient, which might explain why I noticed more local guests than foreign tourists during my stay.
How to get to Pullman Hotel from Dongguk University Station
Once you exit the station through Exit 6, you have to walk over the small hill for about 200 meters. Once you come down the hill, you have to cross two small crosswalks and will see the hotel on your left. The walk is short but slightly uphill so be prepared for a mini exercise if you have heavy luggage.
Check-in & Pricing

One of the standout perks of booking the Executive King Room is that check-in is done at the Club Ambassador Lounge on the 18th floor, which was a much more private experience than checking in at the lobby on the 1st floor. And you can also enjoy the afternoon tea service (available until 4PM) right after checking in.

I booked my stay three months in advance (in November 2024), and the price was approximately 350,000 KRW. Considering it’s a weekend stay at a 5-star hotel, I found this to be a reasonable price.

Executive King Room
1.Room Features & Layout
While the room wasn’t as large as I had expected from the size(30–35㎡), it had a modern and comfortable layout. The king-size bed was in the center of the room, with a small sofa and table by the window perfect for in-room dining. There was also a small desk near the TV providing a convenient space for laptop use.

The bathroom was clean and well-equipped with a bathtub and toiletries from Penhaligon’s. Overall the room felt neat and cozy, perfect for both couples and solo travelers.

2.Namsan City View
I had requested a Namsan Tower view when booking through Agoda but was assigned a city view instead. But it wasn’t too disappointing because there were no buildings blocking my view, allowing me to enjoy the open skyline of Seoul. Of course a Namsan Tower view would have been even better, but the city view was still satisfying!

3.In-Room Dining Menu
Although I didn’t order any room service due to the excellent lounge benefits, I did check out the in-room dining menu on the TV. The menu was quite extensive, offering both breakfast and all-day menu with Korean and Western options such as fried chicken, galbi, and pizza. You can check out the full menu online.
Facilities & Services
1.Outdoor Pool & Pool House Terrace
There are two main pools at Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel: the outdoor pool Urban Escape on the 4th floor and the indoor pool on the basement floor. The outdoor pool is known for its signature Namsan and Seoul skyline views, but it was enclosed with dome covers when I visited in February probably due to the cold weather.

Connected to the outdoor pool was a lounge & dining space called Pool House Terrace. Apprarenty it transforms into a poolside bar with BBQ & grill menus during the summer.
2.Wellness Center
The Wellness Center at Ambassador Seoul Pullman is a comprehensive facility on B1 and B2 floors of the hotel that includes the fitness center, indoor swimming pool and sauna. While the Urban Escape outdoor pool was more for relaxation and lounging, the indoor pool on B1 floor is a lap pool designed more for serious swimmers who want to burn some calories during their stay.

Right next to the indoor pool, you’ll find the fitness center equipped with Technogym machines. For guests staying in Executive Rooms, the hotel also offers complimentary sportswear so you can enjoy your workout without the hassle of packing or washing gymwear during your stay.

Club Ambassador Executive Lounge

The Club Ambassador Lounge features floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a panoramic view of Namsan Tower and Seoul’s skyline day and night. During the day natural sunlight fills the lounge, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere whereas in the evening the city night view transform it into a chic lounge bar.

The wood-toned interior design gives it a modern yet calming ambiance. Seating is well-spaced for privacy, making it perfect for a relaxing experience. The window seats are the most popular especially for couples, while sofa-style tables are ideal for larger groups.
1.Afternoon Tea – A Light Treat After Check-in

The afternoon tea service (available from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM) aligns perfectly with the check-in time, making it an ideal option to enjoy right after arriving. Once seated a two-tiered tray was brought to the table, while additional snacks, coffee, and beverages could be self-served from the bar.

The beverage fridge was stocked with soft drinks, tonic water, juice, sparkling water and still water. Although alcoholic drinks were on display, they were only available during the evening Happy Hour. The coffee machine used Nespresso capsules but the coffee somehow felt smoother and richer than my capsule machine at home.☕

💡Tips for Afternoon Tea
✅ Grab a window seat for the best Namsan view
✅ No alcohol is served during Afternoon Tea
✅ Takeout is not allowed
2.Happy Hour Dinner – A Must-Try Dining Experience
The Happy Hour at Club Ambassador Lounge runs from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and is divided into three sessions:
✔Session 1: 5:00 PM – 6:20 PM
✔Session 2: 6:50 PM – 8:10 PM (Most popular, early reservation recommended)
✔Session 3: 8:40 PM – 10:00 PM

I’d reserved Session 2 and arrived about 10 minutes earlier to secure a window seat for the night view. If you want a prime spot by the window, I highly recommend arriving 5-10 minutes in advance. (Food service starts at the scheduled time, so you can take your time snapping some Namsan Tower-view photos while waiting.)

To be honest, I didn’t expect much in terms of food, but it turned out to be a surprisingly satisfying dinner. The buffet featured a variety of salads, cold dishes (smoked salmon, scallop salad), hot dishes (satay, pork belly, fried chicken), a Korean food corner with DIY bibimbap, and even a pho station.

And I could finally enjoy alcoholic beverages which weren’t available during afternoon tea. The lounge offered three types of white wine, three types of red wine, beer, and a liquor bar for mixing cocktails. And the dessert corner featured mini-sized cheesecakes, pastries and tarts, perfect finger foods for pairing with wine.
💡Tips for Happy Hour
✅ Session 2(6:50 PM – 8:10 PM) is the most popular and fills up fast!
✅ Arrive 5-10 minutes early to secure a window seat
✅ Come hungry
3.Breakfast – A Relaxing Start to the Day
Even though I was still full from the previous night’s Happy Hour feast, I couldn’t resist breakfast so as soon as I woke up, I eagerly made my way back to the 18th-floor lounge🐷

The breakfast spread was just as impressive as the Happy Hour dinner, offering a well-balanced selection. The salads felt even fresher, and there was a great variety of baked goods, porridge, cereals, and an omelet station—all the essential must-haves of a classic breakfast buffet.

Once again, I secured a window seat, enjoying my meal with the morning sunlight streaming over Namsan Tower. It was the perfect way to wrap up my short but sweet one-night staycation.

💡Tips for Breakfast
✅ Hours: 6:30 – 10:00AM
✅ Come early for a more private breakfast experience
Overall
Staying in the Executive King Room at Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel was an exceptional staycation experience. The Executive Lounge benefits alone make the stay worthwhile especially with its impressive Happy Hour and breakfast services. If you’re looking for a premium yet peaceful stay in central Seoul with stunning Namsan Tower views, this hotel is an excellent choice!
