I recently came back from a short Trip to Hong Kong and decided to write a detailed guide on travelling from Seoul city to Incheon Airport. For this trip, I used the 6002 limousine bus to Incheon Airport which directly links popular hotspots like Hongdae, Sinchon, and Ewha Womans University to and from the airport. In this post I will walk you through everything you need to know to use the airport bus—including schedules, payment options, ticketing and other tips.

Incheon Airport Bus Schedule and Stop Finder
Incheon Airport Bus Schedule
Before heading out, it’s highly recommended to check the real-time schedule and location of your nearest bus stop on the official website. In Seoul, limousine buses to Incheon International Airport are operated by 4 different companies: Airport Limousine, Korea City Air Terminal, K Limousine, and Seoul Airport Limousine. Each operator manages specific routes so it’s best to find your bus number first. Once you have your bus number, you can visit either the Incheon Airport site or the corresponding bus operator’s website for further information and make reservations if available. So to summarize:
- Use Google Map, Naver Map, or Kakao Map to find the bus number and the closest stop based on your current location or hotel
- Once you know the bus number, go to the Incheon airport website to view the detailed route and timetable of your bus
- On the bus operator’s website, you can also click on the specific bus stop to check the exact departure times for that location
Finding Your Bus Stop
One caveat to note is that most buses in Seoul operate on the central bus-only lanes, which help reduce delays caused by traffic. But despite the convenience, the direction can be quite confusing so always make sure your stop is heading towards the airport, not the opposite way.
If you want to check the exact location of the stop with a visual reference, you can find out the bus stop number from the bus website, search for the stop number on Naver Map, and click on “Road View” icon to see a street-level photo of the bus stop.
How to Pay for Airport Bus to Incheon
There are 3 main ways to pay for the Incheon Airport Limousine Bus when departing from the city:
- Korean Transportation Card (ie. T-money)
This is the easiest and most convenient method. Simply tap your card when boarding, and you’re good to go. - Cash Payment
If you don’t have a Korean transportation card, you can pay the driver in cash(KRW). You can check the fare for your ride on the Incheon Airport website. - Booking Online
Some buses (depending on the operating company) allow you to book your seat in advance through their official website or mobile app.

My Experience of Taking Bus 6002 from Seoul to Incheon Airport
Bus 6002 is one of numerous Airport Limousines that connect central Seoul with Incheon Airport, making stops at major areas like Hongdae, Sinchon, and Ewha. When the bus pulls up, the driver will step out and ask whether you’re heading to Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. He will also help you load suitcases under the bus—for smaller carry-ons, there’s also a small luggage rack inside the bus near the front.

Once onboard, you can choose any available seat—as bus 6002 doesn’t offer reservations, seating is first-come, first-served. From Hongdae/Sinchon/Ehwa, it takes around 60 minutes to reach Terminal 1 and approximately 15 more minutes to Terminal 2.

Bus from Incheon Airport to Seoul City
When you’re returning from Incheon Airport to Seoul by airport limousine bus, the first step is to purchase your ticket. After you clear immigration and collect your luggage, head toward the arrivals area where you’ll find the airport limousine ticket kiosks or counters.
If the lines at the indoor kiosks/counters are long, there are more kiosks outside the terminal, often with shorter queues. At the kiosk, choose your destination, select the bus route, and proceed with payment—if you want to pay in cash, you can use the in-person counter near Gate 7 (Terminal 1). The printed paper ticket will indicate your bus number, departure time, and boarding location.

Once you have your ticket, proceed to the bus boarding area for your route. Each stop has signboards that clearly display bus numbers and their respective destinations, so it’s easy to find where you need to wait. You can also check the exact location of your bus stop on the airport website. For example the stop for Bus 6002 was near Gate 5.

When the bus pulls up, the driver will check your ticket and ask for your destination. If you have luggage, the driver will take it and attach a luggage tag and give you a claim tag in return. Be sure to keep this tag as you need to show this when retrieving your luggage after you get off the bus.

Other Ways of Travelling Between Incheon Airport and Seoul
While the airport limousine bus is my top recommendation, here are other options that travelers commonly consider when heading to and from Incheon International Airport:
1.AREX (Airport Railroad Express)
The Airport Railroad (공항철도) connects Seoul to Incheon Airport with two types of trains:
- Airport Railroad(All-Stop Train): This stops at multiple stations between Seoul Station and the airport—including Hongdae, Gimpo Airport, Digital Media City, and many others. While it’s affordable, the number of stops makes it slower especially if you’re traveling from central Seoul.
- Airport Railroad Express: If you’re going to the airport from Seoul Station, this is a fast and efficient option. The express train goes nonstop to the airport, cutting down the travel time significantly—around 45 minutes to Terminal 1.
2.Taxi
Taking a taxi to the airport is straightforward and door-to-door, which can be a convenient option if you’re in a rush or traveling late at night. The fare usually ranges from ₩60,000 to ₩90,000+, depending on distance, time of day, and traffic.
At Incheon Airport, there are designated taxi stands for different types of service—standard taxis, deluxe taxis, jumbo vans, and pre-booked taxis. You can check the exact locations of these taxi stands here:

3.Hotel Shuttle Bus
Some hotels in Seoul offer free or paid airport shuttle services. These shuttles may run on fixed schedules, so be sure to check your hotel’s official website or contact the front desk before your travel date to confirm availability and pickup instructions.
Overall
When you’re staying near Hongdae, Sinchon, or Ewha Women’s University, the 6002 limousine bus offers an efficient ride to Incheon Airport. The process is smooth on both ends—boarding from the city or returning from the airport—and all essential services like payment, ticketing, and luggage handling are simple even if you don’t speak Korean. So even if you’re coming from or going to a different part of Seoul, I highly recommend giving airport bus a try. It’s my go-to every time I fly out of Seoul—and I hope this guide makes your journey just as easy.
